In the zoo, the Finnish capital from 6 to 13 September, will be the now popular in the country, an event called "Night of the cats ."
These days, the zoo will operate on a special regime - from 16.00 to 24.00 . Visitors can see various members of the cat family in the evening time when the animals are most active , as well as to observe the process of feeding. Also Zoo guests are waiting for the music program of the festival AMUR-murr! and presentation of theater Helsinki Zoo .
The event will raise funds for the project AMUR, aimed at saving the Amur leopards and tigers. In particular, it will be able to purchase special AMUR- tickets , which cost 2 euros higher than normal .
The proceeds will be transferred to work for the conservation of these animals in the Far East of Russia. In nature, there are not more than 40 individuals of the Amur leopard , and only 350 individuals of the Amur tiger , the rarest subspecies of tiger. The activities for the conservation of these animals finally began to bear fruit : in recent years there has been growth of the Amur leopard!
People donate money to charity organisations or volunteer to help them raise money. Many of these organisations run charity shops. The first charity shop was in England. In our city there are about 50 charity shops!
Nowdays we also have charity shops in our city. I want to tell you about one of them. It called Green Hand. It is near Nikolskiy Park.
It has got reasonable prices and poor people can buy different things there. The items in charity shop are usually second-hand and donated by members of the public. You can find there clothes, books, CDs, and other tings. Also you can find food and crafts.
The staff who works in this shop are volunteers. If you also want to be a volunteer subscribe this petition.

I have written about charity organization "Great Bear". “Great bear” is an organization which helps families of people who has lived through The Second World War. It also helps families which members have died during the work on “professional” missions (such as military servicemen, policemen, firefighters etc.). Recently it has started helping orphans, children with disabilities and large families. You can say that this organization helps almost all people in need. It was officially registered in 2000, though it had been existing for 4 years before. This charity organization carries out a lot of different events such as New Year parties for veterans, excursions for children with disabilities (for example last year it was an excursion to the Hermitage) and others. Last November the correctional school in Ozerki was opened with help of the “Great Bear”(it raised money for this school’s opening). Now in this school study children with diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Annually this organization hosts more than 200 charity events in which a lot of people living in St. Petersburg and Leningradskaya oblast take part.
Moscow charity shop called "Happy shop" was opened in 30 of July. It collects money for charity projects. It was opend by initiative of organization "Together". Charity organization "Together" includes more then 30 funds. These funds always leads charity markets and fairs. Always there are season market "Blagomarket" to help fund "Alive", fair "Friendly hearth" and fund "Children hearths". Now these funds have a charity shop, that includes deigner clothing, shoes, jewelery, accessories, books, furniture and painings. There will be fashion show from best designers of the world. First of them was in September. First charity shops was opened in England after the Great Patriotic War. On our days there are seven thousends charity shops in England, that collects money for children, that got down with carcinoma.
Today I want to tell about charity shops. Nowadays ,these shops are very popular. For example ,there are about 7000 charity shops in the USA. There are in Russia too. And some of them are situated in Saint -Petersburg. There are about 50 shops in Petersburg, but today, I want to tell you about charity shop " Thank you ". You can buy only books in this shop. But organizer of this project ,says ,that one shop is too little for that great project. So they wanted to build about 10 shops. The money ,which you have spent in this shop goes to the hospitals and shelters for children.Also you can donate. This shop is situated in the centre of Petersburg . I think ,that building of charity shop is a very good idea ,because you can raise money to poor children ,who don't have parents ,or children ,who has a terrible disease .
I'll tell you about a charity fund needy children in St. Petersburg "The Sun" . It surrounds the warmth , care, attention and support those children who are in trouble : - Sick newborn babies whose mothers are alone or can’t cope with the illness and rehabilitation of child - Orphan kids who are brought Grandma - Children who are on long-term treatment in the hospital - Children and young people whose families have been in difficult situations - Orphans who grow up in state institutions for children - Children who have been abused - Children who are " social orphans In 2007, the Foundation was established needy children in St. Petersburg "The Sun" , whose founders - Count Stephan Tolstoy , Mr. Oleg Stallions , Birgitta Westerberg - are the successors and followers of the Swedish fund its mission. Fund collects money by getting donations by bank transfer.
